Okay so I'm grateful someone got me a travel system but it's not the one I wanted it has really bad ratings and I feel very uncomfortable putting my baby in the carseat that came with it.

For my daughter I specifically asked for something that wasn’t pink and brown and didn’t have a print on it. 
My sister was going to buy the exact one I picked out but then my aunt ended up throwing a fit and insisting she buy the travel system instead. 
She bought a pink and brown one with bugs on it! It was the cheapest, flimsiest thing ever!! I didn’t even make a registry because I didn’t want to be too picky and this was the only thing I had any kind of opinion on. 
I cried hysterically. My best friend returned it IMMEDIATELY like left in the middle of the shower with it and came
Back with a different one. I found out later my aunt spent like $75 on it. Do they even make
Travel systems that cheap?!
So no, you are not over reacting. It’s important to have a safe, reliable travel system.

I’d return it. I’m not about to sacrifice safety just so I don’t appear ungrateful.  I am buying all the big items with this baby before my shower so I get what I want and not what other people think I should want lol.

I’d just return it if you can. I’m not picky at all, but when it comes to a car seat and mattress for my baby I’d rather get exactly what I want.

My work friends threw me a baby shower and got a bunch of big item stuff that I didn’t want or needed so I returned it and got gift cards/store credit. I didn’t get upset over it. If you can return it, you can donate it?

Girl, return it. Car seat safety is my BIGGIE and I will hurt someone’s feelings over it and not bat an eye.
