Baby Hair

KJ

Our 10-month old has beautiful hair. It's just starting to curl, and I'm hoping he gets my thick curly hair. Of course, it's kind of an awkward length right now because it's growing, and everyone is starting with the comments.

"It's over his ears, time for a haircut!"

"Boys shouldn't have long hair, people will think he's a girl!"

"When are you cutting his hair? It's already too long..."

But I don't want to cut it! My fiance has beautiful shoulder length hair, and I always have loved longer hair on baby boys, too. Also, if it does end up curling completely, then longer will be beautiful!

I thought, out of everyone, my long-haired fiance would be on board with me letting his hair grow, but now he's starting with the comments too. For him, it's cultural. Growing up in a strict household, he had to wait until he was 18 to have long hair, and he believes our son should have to as well. While I understand and respect his heritage, we are not a strict household, and I come from a very different background.

I'm just frustrated that everyone seems to get an opinion.

Here's my handsome broccoli monster.
