Dark crusty nose on cat? Help!

His nose always looks like this! It’s almost like scabbing but it peels off to reveal a normal nose. I have to do it a couple time a day and it comes back! What is this? He’s 7 months old and completely healthy and vaccinated. I haven’t owned a cat since I was little so I don’t know if it’s normal or not!

Does the cat eat wet food? 
My cat use to do this cause he’s a little piggy and it would get stuck to his nose 😂 
Maybe it’s that or he’s playing in the dirt?

I wouldn't worry about it unless he is otherwise sick. You could call your vet if you are really worried but its probably just boogers 😝

Thanks guys, he’s completely happy and healthy and doesn’t have nasal issues or anything so probably just gross boogers 🤷‍♀️

My only thought is that it could be kitty herpes which doesn’t really affect them in any way (acts like a cold in cats) and it’s crusting from regular nasal discharge. Have you brought it up with the vet?

My cat is strictly inside he eats dry food and he gets that too. He’s perfectly healthy I’m sure there’s nothing wrong

It can be a sign of infection or chronic disease. Maybe a respiratory infection

My kitty has bartonella and this happens to her in between flare ups.

Ahh!! Hunnie gets this too! She had it when i first got her but doesnt really get it anymore. Definitely following! My vet said theres nothing wrong with her. But then again, my vet fucking sucks.
