Ear wax?

Hey mommas, my 6 MO has some mild ear wax build up. I’m guessing this is totes normal but I just am curious how much ear wax is too much? TIA

All you need is a drop of mineral or olive oil on your finger and let it into the baby’s ear. This will prevent the wax from hardening and it will naturally clean it out by preventing it from adhering to the canal wall. It is no longer recommended to use qtips or Kleenex inserted into the ear bc this just impacts the earwax. You can also irrigate with plain water and the bulb suction that you often get/use for the nose. Just ensure you can properly clean it first.

I heard if you pour a little hydrogen peroxide in the ear it helps loosen the ear wax up. I also heard the Oogiebear works great to clean there ears. My daughter had discomfort in her ear  (wasn't an ear infection) and the pediatrician did a rinse in her ear and I was amazed on how much wax came out.

Don’t put peroxide in your baby’s ear! They have special drops that help loosen wax. My oldest (2.5) just had surgery to get wax removed from her ears cause she couldn’t hear at all so she wasn’t talking( no idea how long it was like that for her) and the main reason they decided to put her under was cause there was so much and it was hard as a rock that they didn’t want to risk it.
