Herpes but I’m a virgin

Im not that well informed on this topic, but for the last 3 days I’ve had a feeling like something is stuck in my throat and it hurts when i swallow

I went to the doctor because the feeling didn’t go away, he checked my throat and said i had herpes. He asked if i ever had those red spots on my lips (idk what they’re called)

But i never had them and he looked surprised and told me 90% of the people have had these and u never did?

Sorry if tmi but i don’t have these red spots anywhere on my body, not on my lips not on my vagina idk where else could be possible

Anyways im not sexually active (no oral no anal nothing) so how could this be? Can it be treated? Should i be worried about it?

Update: i googled some stuff which led to herpes esophagitis. This is herpes in the throat which can be caused by acid reflux.

I had an acid reflux before my throat started hurting so according to google im assuming i just have esophagitis which if extreme can become a type of herpes

Weird thing i mentioned the reflux to the doc but he said it doesn’t have anything to do with it?

He told me to come back on Friday so idk
