Gender Neutral?

Question

After long discussion, my husband and I have agreed on waiting to find out the gender of our baby. With that being said, I'm wanting some ideas on where to find gender neutral products and clothing. Also interested in some gender neutral baby shower ideas as well.

We had a bumble bee themed shower! And I honestly haven’t found it too difficult to find gender neutral clothing—you can see in the bottom pic it’s lots of grey, yellow, greenish tealish, and navy. Most of it is from Amazon. Lots of things like sheets and swaddles come in greys or neutral prints. I feel like a lot of boys clothes are pretty neutral too. I got a pack of bows that match the general mood of clothes we have to counteract anything looking too boyish.

We did this with our first and out doing it with our second as well! We bought teal, yellow, orange shirts. We registered for bottles, pacis, etc but no clothes. It was great because we actually got things we needed instead of a ton of clothes. When baby was born our family bought gender specific clothes to the hospital as gifts! We have an espresso colored crib, painted the walls a very pretty gray color so it could go either way. It also makes the decorations stand out more! We have a white/off white recliner. I’ll post a pic if I can find one on my phone.

I dress my daughter in a lot of gender neutral clothes because 
1. They don’t understand gender until something like 2y
2. I like high quality clothing that doesn’t get wrinkley and weird in the wash
3. I want to reuse the expensive clothing I bought for my daughter for our next baby.
I know a lot of people do whites and greys but I live seeing a chunky baby toddle about in red pajamas or a bright green shirt and striped pants. I add a bow when we go out so everyone knows she’s female.

An added bonus of waiting to find out gender is people buy you more of the items you need rather than buying tons of clothing that the baby will only wear a few times.

One of my favorite baby clothes brands is Kate Quinn Organics, it’s on the pricier side but they have really good sales frequently and the clothes are great quality. They’re pretty much all gender neutral, except the dresses and some of the more “feminine” patterns, but most of their onesies/rompers/PJs come in lots of plain gender neutral colors and some cute gender neutral patterns!

I hate pink and I am not into words and super baby cartoons on baby clothes. I like simple clean neutral basics. I am having a girl and everything in every store is pink and says princess on it so I usually shop in the boys sections and find greys, blues yellows and greens. Tj maxx and Marshall’s have lots of neutral pjs and onesie packs in the boys section. I bought a bunch of cute Burt’s bees grey pjs that are soft organic cotton and unisex prices are also so good 5 pack of solid white and grey onesies for 9.99. H&M and zara have tons of neutral simple clothes in tons of colors but h&m sells out of sizes fast so if online shopping have to be ready to buy or might be sold when you go back (has happened to me a few times!). Obviously amazon has everything just need to search. Target has neutrals not tons but some. Then I love Jamie Kay for cute special items but that is definitely an aesthetic so might be hit or miss for you! Think bonnets and linen rompers cable knit caridgans etc. There are a bunch more stores in the Jamie Kay world and stuff for higher price points let me know and I can list.

My husband and I aren’t finding out either😊! The baby shower isn’t gonna be themed more just like a summer party with flowers and citrus fruits. Also Burt’s bees has some good neutral stuff. That’s what I put on my registry. You def have to look harder for gender neutral clothes. I’ve found more online than I have in person at the store.
