Radiation

Karley • 31. RN 💉 Married 💍 Grant Michael 💙

Are there any other moms or moms to be in this group who have worked in Radiation? I’m an RN and work in an outpatient radiation clinic. My patients themselves after treatment are not radioactive but occasionally we will have patients come in after PET scans and be radioactive or after seed implants. There are other nurses here and I’m the only pregnant one so I do my best to avoid caring for these patients. I was near one today for about 3 minutes and was standing about 3 feet away from her. I’m only 13 weeks so I’m really not showing yet but she luckily had asked if I was pregnant because she just had a PET scan and so she was radioactive. I don’t really have a question just looking to see if anyone else is in the same boat as me and what you did to protect yourself other than asking every patient if their radioactive.
