4 week old won't sleep in bassinet

My son will be 1 month old on Easter Sunday and for the past week we've been trying to get his acid reflux under control and we discovered he has colic too. His reflux seems to be good now but we think he's going through a growth spurt now. He refuses to sleep if he's not in our arms or on our chests. I currently have to sleep on our couch in a nest of pillows to keep baby safe but still allow us to sleep. My husband is convinced he's going to get used to it and not ever want to sleep in his bassinet or crib. Is that possible? Is this normal for him? We are first time parents so we are clueless.
