Boyfriend Dilemma

So today, my boyfriend and I were sexting and he came a few times during the process. Afterwards, I told him it was his turn to make me cum but he said he “needed to take a break.” I said it was alright, but he never texted me back (I’m also about to start my period, it’s about a few days late). So am I just being paranoid, or is there something else going on?

He’s a really great guy, and I like him a lot. He engages in lots of conversation in person, but recently I’ve noticed a decline in that as well. I am usually the one to text him first and I think about him constantly. Since it’s still the beginning of our relationship (we’ve been together for about 3 months now), I would understand if he’s just getting used to being in a relationship with me. However, he was really involved in the first few weeks of it, but not so much now. It’s just been a back and forth debate in my head for a little while.
