I’m not a dispatcher but I applied to be one, I had to take this 2 hour long simulation test which I ended up not passing lol the pay was $25 an hour

Dispathchers have to be knowledgeable and keep up on new processes. Its very stressful especially with emergency calls where you have to help children. You rotate between days graves and swings then you can bid on your shift. I had 3 tests and 2 interviews bur ended up getting pregnant so couldnt finish the process. It started at $16 in utah. 
Corrections might not be so bad if its in a womens facility. But tou do have to take a police course if sorts. And be physically fit if you have to restrain someone, also the emotional abuse the people pur you through. Pay is around the same here.
