Birth Story for my April Baby Henry

In case anyone is interested in our crazy birth story.

I started getting contractions at 9pm last night.

Totally out of the blue. I had literally felt normal all day. Didn’t expect anything to happen and Didn’t feel like anything was going to happen But when they did start, they were 5 minutes apart already. They weren’t super painful or anything until i got to the hospital. I wanted to let Jim sleep a bit before we came because everything was totally bearable. We got here right about midnight. I had told jim that i didn’t think they were going to keep me because I didn’t think there was any way I could be really dilated plus my water hadn’t broke. Well when they checked me, i was already 7cm 😳

They had to give me a full IV before I would have been able to get an epidural. Well by the time the whole bag was through, i was already 9.5 cm... so no pain drugs for me. There wouldn’t have been time. As soon as the bag was done at about 2am, they broke my water and I immediately felt the need to push. I’m pretty sure the nurses thought i needed an exorcism 🤣 I was not handling the pain well. I felt like I was going to faint because of how much it hurt.

But.... I had a Completely natural birth no pain meds of any sort. Roughly 10 minutes of practice pushes, 5 minutes of real pushes and he was out. 5.5 hours of labor, 5 minutes of pushing and my little bundle of joy was here. Worst pain of my life. But so worth it
