Forgiveness?

How can I forgive the people who have done me wrong without coming across as a pushover?

I know that sounds like something a pushover would say but in all honesty I just know that humans are flawed and I believe in redemption.

My best friend made out with the first guy I ever loved, which I told her.

We only talked once since it happened, 2 days ago, and I said I just needed time to think.

I want to give her a second chance even though everyone else says not to, but how can we even move forward with our friendship now?
