Side effect or allergic reaction?

I’m on the patch and I’ve been on it for a little over 6 months and in the last couple months I’ve been getting almost like a chemical burn from where the patch sits. It doesn’t matter where i place it, it still becomes inflamed, red, and it tends to itch a ton! I’m unsure of what to do. I was on the pill before but i had a lot of issues with it in the past. I’d like to stay on the patch but i can’t get over it having a weird reaction like this and I’m not sure if it’s a side effect or just an allergic reaction to the adhesive now.
