Do you think your baby’s height measurements are off?

At my daughter’s 9 month check up today, they said she had only grown 1/2 inch since her 6 month appointment 🤔 the doctor said it could be the measurement was off, or that she’s just leveling out in height? I know she’s gotten taller because all of her clothes show it- pants and pajamas get too short etc. just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience.

One time I had to have her recheck my daughter's height. Because she shrunk! The woman told me she knew what she was doing but she would recheck to make me feel better! Of course I was right! She didn't come back in after that, she sent someone else in. My daughter doesn't like to be held down so sometimes it's hard for them to get her height.

Height has always been spot on, but head circumference...sometimes I don’t know what the hell they’re measuring, but it’s not my kid’s head 😂. Sometimes it’s 7th percentile, sometimes it’s 97th.

My daughters height fell from 48th percentile to the 22nd! The pediatrician said she wasn’t concerned at all and it very well could have just been she wiggled /moved during the measuring process!

I wonder this too! My LO has fallen to 34% percentile in height, yet he can wear 18 month pants without them being long, and he doesn’t seem small compared to peers. I think the way they measure them has some room for error, and probably being even just .25” off can make a big difference when your only 20-something inches tall!

If your child moves too much during the process its hard to get an accurate measurement.

I’ve had someone measure my daughter recently and you could see when she brought the tape measure down to her feet it slipped quite a bit off by her head. And at birth the person measured her on my bed in a pile of blankets... so I feel like her birth measurement was wrong too
