Ear infections affecting sleep

So I asked about medicine last night. But, my son, 11 mo has an ear infection. He is taking antibiotics, he got them Wednesday night. Last night, he is still waking up screaming at night. Is inconsolable. Just will cry and cry and finally go back to sleep. He doesn’t have a fever anymore, I gave him Tylenol before bed. Should I just set an alarm for me to wake up to switch to motrin so he doesn’t wake up screaming? Or do I need to just deal with it? Has your babies been the same way with an ear infection?
