When do you plan to start maternity leave?

Just curious...
I told my workplace that I want my mat leave to begin on 1st July and I’m due on 16th July. I’m a teacher so that seemed logical as it’s a Monday so wouldn’t be going mid-week. 
What has everyone else decided on?

I plan to work up until I go into labor. I don’t want to miss out on time on the back end if I go over due

I’m a teacher as well and I assume you are using your sick days and go year round if you are posting about July maternity leave... stay on as long as you can because they won’t let you tack in extra at the end paid!!  Unless there’s a medical reason to go early, stay as long as you can!!

I'm a Registered Nurse and iv already dropped my shifts to half and plan to stop work at the beginning of June, unless I can be offered light duties

Last shift is at 36 weeks exactly, I’m a nurse and if I work any longer I need a fit to work note from the doctor/midwife. The 12-14 hour shifts are taking their toll already, I’m on the countdown! Looking forward to spending some days with my 2 year old once I finish x

Working up until labor but worked from home the last 2.5 weeks. I had to ask for a doctors note in order to get that luxury and let me tell ya... the doc really didn’t want to write that note. Took 20 minutes of discussion to get it!

My last day is May 30th. But I’m a teacher and that’s the final day of school. Scheduled c section between June 3-10, official date not set yet. Not due until July 1. Don’t return back to work until November 4.

I'm a teacher in the UK too, due July 4th....I've told school I want to leave on Friday 21st June, giving me 2 weeks...!
