What to do with excessive baby clothes??

Soooo we had our shower yesterday and got bags and bags of nothing but clothes 🤦🏼‍♀️ We already have all of the clothes baby needs and would like to return/sell some of them to get some other necessities. We have zero gift receipts and I have no idea where the majority of the stuff was purchased. I could consign them, but I know we wouldn’t get much for them. Any other ideas?

Ugh. I hate clothing gifts 😂 I would check out the tags and return what I could then sell the rest online. Honestly? If it wasn’t registered for, I would literally tell the person who bought it that you need the receipt if they can get it as you got duplicates and/or cannot possibly use all of the clothing you were gifted. I’m a bit of a bitch when it comes to gifts. I’m very forward about getting what we NEED or nothing at all. And anyone who didn’t provide a receipt and went off registry is just plain rude imo. I have to be very aggressive with my mother in law and tell her that we do not have storage for 4t items bought for 1st birthdays 🙄 etc. I just return what I can and sell what I can’t.

That happened to me so I kinda guessed most came from Walmart so I just took it all in and they scanned each item to determine if it was theirs or not.  So I returned what I could.  I could only get a gift card hut that was ok. I could get diapers and such with it

If you know where they’re from you can try to take them back, most places will give you store credit if nothing else. If they’re from a place like Target you could That might be easiest, or you can try to sell on poshmark, just sell a handful at a time and name your price. You won’t get full price but it’d be better than nothing.

Ughhh frustrating!  I always include a gift receipt when I do gifts.  You can look up the brands and see what stores in your area carries those and try to return that way.
