2 and still use Paci?

My son is 2 and still uses his Paci. We got rid of it finally! Shame on me, I know 😣. We just kept taking it away and my SO would give in. My son went to the SIL for the weekend so I took advantage of it and hid the pacifier before he left and hid all the old ones so he couldn't see them. He still points at his mouth and cries but gets over it after a couple minutes. Cutting the pacifier so " it didn't work" never worked for him. He'd just cry and eventually put it in his mouth.
