How much is too much blood?

I got a copper IUD put in back in the beginning of January. I was warned that it would make my periods heavier and longer, but I wasn’t prepared for just HOW heavy and long it would make them. My periods are now at least 10 days long and I bleed though maximum absorbency pads in two hours or less.
My question is, is this normal? Should I just accept that this is how heavy my periods will be from now on or should I see a doctor?

Thats normal for me without birth control. It could be like that the first 6 months or the entire time you have the copper iud.

My periods have been like this some having the copper IUD. I use a menstrual cup and honestly have to empty it every 30 minutes and wear a pad. I asked my doctor while I was in for something else and she said to give it three months and then go see her if it didn't settle. They expect things to start settling by then but 6 months isn't unrealistic either, and there's also a chance it may need settle. 
Sorry I don't have anything more positive to say but you're not alone girl, I nearly went to the ER when I got my first IUD period because I was in agony and the amount of blood lost was terrifying. The second time round was very slightly better and I'm due on soon so I'm hoping it'll be lighter again.

Bleeding through pads in under 2 hours is a sign you should be going to the doctor. That’s not normal
