Does anybody else have a giant list of names on their phone

Over the last year or year and a half I’ve been collecting names as I hear them or think of them. My best friend thinks it’s really weird but I enjoy it. I like to rattle a few off to my husband sometimes to see what he likes just for fun...we are going to start officially trying in the fall so I don’t think it’s that odd of a thing to be thinking about like my friend makes it seem 🤷🏻‍♀️

Why is that weird? What might be weird is that I bought a “baby name” book when I was a young teenager and I’ve been keeping a list of names since I was a kid myself! 😂 I’ve always wanted to be a mom.

I started my list when I was like 12. It evolved as I got older and more names stuck on the list over the years, so it’s really long lol.
My husband and I actually have 2 girl names and 2 boy names picked off our list. We want 4 kids (possibly more, depending on life), and we figure we’re set for the first 2 no matter how the gender thing goes. 😆

I don't think this is odd at all. My husband and I just started trying for our first, but we have been discussing names and baby/parenting related things for years. We have already decided that we would ideally like to have 3 kids; preferably a boy first; and have 3 names of each gender picked out. And even though we have picked out names, I still keep lists of names I hear and think are interesting or cute, because when baby actually comes there is no telling what we will go with. We may have changed. Our preferences my have changed in they type of names we like. You never know. I kept a list of names even before I met my husband as I have always know since I was a little girl that I wanted to be a mother. I think this is a pretty common thing actually, as I have met a few other people who do this. I have also met some that think it is weird.

I have for years even before my husband and I started TTC and I felt crazy for it, but many of my friends even those who aren't TTC do too so that makes me feel better lol.
