Do I have the right to be upset?

I don’t see my nan that often so she hasn’t had chance to meet my boyfriend yet. He’s been asking and asking to meet her for ages and it hasn’t been possible; however she’s at my house today and I invited him round and he gave me about 4 excuses not to come and meet her and completely blew me off. Now he’s acting a bit douche-y because I was upset that he said he “cant really be bothered” to walk 5 minutes to my house for a 15 minute visit. Do I have a right to be a bit upset and pissed off because of this?

Well, that would be kind of aggravating. Why the sudden change? Talk to him and see if there’s some reasonable excuse for him acting the way he did. He may have gotten cold feet. Or it may have been that his nerves got the best of him. He may have been having a really bad day too. Still no excuse for him to act like a jerk. But that may be why. If so, try to understand and give him another chance. If it becomes a pattern, or he keeps on doing it, he may just not be interested in meeting her.

I mean something that important you should give him more of a warning then the day and time she is visiting. Maybe there is a reasonable excuse why he didn’t want to meet her suddenly at that time. He might want to prepare for it. It seems she is very important to you and he must know that. Guys get really nervous over meeting parents and family.
