so my fiancé’s baby momma text and ask us for money for their daughter to eat, she’s with us or his family the majority of the time nearly 95% of the time. so i told him i will not give her cash but i’ll take her to walmart and let her use my debit card for some groceries, OUR grocery money, we have 2 more kids besides his that are mine. but i’m not about to let his daughter go without anything while she is with her mom. this is the response i get after i had offered her as much as i’m willing because i won’t just give anyone cash and that’s nothing against her i just won’t do it, and this is EXACTLY why. you can state your opinions. (tyler is her “employed” bf that lives with her)

Is this woman homeless or something? Why is she so dead broke that she’s trying to hit you up for cash? This is really shady. She really needs to make something for herself instead of being a total deadbeat and mooching off people for money. I personally can’t stand women who mooch off others especially when she has children to support. You should tell her to get her shit together. I personally waited until I was making six figures in order to try and start a family. But I get everyone’s different.

Having been in similar situation, I think you did the right thing. Better to nip this in the bud now rather than later. I will caution you though, speaking from experience, the older the daughter gets the more she may try and use her to get more money or ask he daughter to lie for her.  You just have to be a consistent and united front with your responses. Daughter NEEDS these items for whatever class....ok we will pick her up to go get them or order them for her. Guess who no longer is interested in the class anymore. Son HAS to have these shoes for football practice. Ok we will get them. Guess who’s not playing football anymore. Extra money needed for school dance tickets. Ok we will send a check directly to the school. Guess who’s not going to the dance anymore...and so on and so on.
