Newborn visits?

How soon after bringing home your new baby did you allow visitors to your home?

We allowed family after a few days, but they were to call first and not expect anything. We didn't have any issues. Mostly sat in the family room and talked and if baby was awake and fed I would let them hold him (every one was UTD on vaccines and no sickies allowed) its totally up to you. We also had visitors right away at the hospital, but I'm making them wait a while this time, cuz that was too much right after delivery.

I don't mind close family visiting the same day. I put a time limit on it though so baby and I can rest.

We allowed it the same day and thereafter with close family. Distant and friends... it was much later

Our plan is to be just us two for the first two days then we were going to call our parents to invite them over for short visits. 
If we are ready before that then we call our parents earlier.
We have made them aware so there should be no surprises. 
Do what you feel most comfortable with. We've given people heads up that they won't be invited over straight away since we want to make sure we are ready and that I've managed to rest a bit before taking on visitors, but I know many people are happy for visitors straight away.

I’m just not down for the social visits right away! I’m exhausted and trying to just take everything in. I only had my parents and my husbands mom visit in hospital. Then a 3 weeks later a friend etc. I’ll do the same probably for number two. Just need a few weeks to get everything settled.

Same day really.  My first was born in june.  My next will be born in November so I will be a little more reluctant for visitors.

I wanted to wait 2 weeks but people just showed up unannounced 😕 Of course my mother and sisters and my husbands parents were allowed visit any time
