Can you choose to have a c-section? Or does there have to be a reason to have one?

I’m a FTM and I’m wanting to have a c-section instead of having my little girl vaginal. Can I choose? Or does there have to be a reason? I have been cut open before years ago to have my left ovary removed when I was little like around 10 years old. But idk if that will make a difference. I’m 33+2 weeks

Probably not, no.  C section is a major surgery and if its not medically necessary you can’t choose it.....

They prefer to do them for emergency reasons not just because you don’t want to have a vaginal birth.

This is a major abdominal surgery with a difficult recovery. I wouldn't recommend choosing it unless you have given it a lot of thought and have valid reasons why it would be more beneficial to you in the long run than vaginal delivery. (There are many cases where C-section is the better option, but without those mitigating factors it isn't usually the best choice.)

I would NEVER have an elective c-section. It was the worst thing that has ever happened to me. It is MAJOR abdominal surgery. Mammals were meant to birth vaginally.

With twins, I was given the option. I said yes because of the possible risks in my case and would rather get both girls out safely. I also have never had this desire for a vaginal birth some women have, so it was an easy choice.

Why would anyone want a csection

Depends on the doctor, but most likely not. I know plenty of women who have had a C-section and loved it. There is so much negativity associated with having a C-section and for some reason people will look at you like you’re crazy if you say you’d rather have a C-section than a vaginal delivery. There is nothing wrong with wanting your delivery a certain way, don’t let anyone make you feel weird for wanting a C-section. Unfortunately you might have a hard time finding a doctor who will let you deliver via C-section if it’s not medically necessary. But good luck! Hope you have a safe delivery 💗
