Wrong gender?

Question

So today I had a ultrasound I'm 38 weeks to check if head was down.
My last ultrasound was at 20 weeks and they told me it was a boy. Today the ultrasound tech told me it's a girl ! 
I was shocked so now I don't know what to think I dont have anything for a girl.
Has this happened to anyone before ?

I would be pissed, especially if I bought a bunch of things for the opposite gender 😩

I was told my first was a girl, but he ended up being a boy.  I wouldn't do anything drastic at this point.  Maybe buy one neutral coming home outfit.  Just wait and see on any other purchases/changes.

I know of two people who were told they were having girls, they came out boys.

I'm still so worried that it is a girl now I'm so not prepared for a girl.
Also the ultrasound tech showed me everything because I was in shock that she said she couldn't see no penis or testicles. 
She said she had a good view between the baby's legs and what she showed me looked a lot like girl. I picked up one outfit yesterday just in case it does come out a girl I'm so nervous now I have 2 boys already. Having a girl is going to be something totally new to me but also exciting.

Not happened to me but a midwife in one of my baby classes did warn us about it. Apparently it isn't uncommon for them to get it wrong as they can never be 100%. 
It's very unlikely that they got it wrong at this point but maybe the baby was at an angle that they couldn't see his boy parts 🤔

I was told girl at 16 weeks, come to find out via scan @ 33 weeks & amnio results .. I’m having a boy!

I would just be careful. 38 weeks it actually might be hard for them to get gender correct because of how baby is so squished in there... I would get a couple girl outfits and wait until baby is here to buy anymore.

It hasn’t happened to me but you can use the same things for a girl as a boy lol. At this point I’d wait to see FOR SURE and then get some cute pink stuff after if indeed the tech was right. (Or get a couple cutesy things now so you have a bit of both for those “I’m just born” photos”). 
How crazy is that though?! 20 weeks is pretty far along for the tech to have been wrong!
