How much baby wash and lotion to buy?

I'm buying the baby shampoo/wash and lotion online and want to avoid paying shipping a bunch but also dont want to buy too much. 
The shampoo/body wash is 8oz bottles and the lotion is 9oz. They also have a 32 oz refill shampoo/wash. 
Just curious what other moms went through in the first 6 or 12 months. Thanks!

I honestly would buy just a small amount. You don’t know if your baby will have a reaction to a certain brand either. I never went through much of everything within the first year. You don’t need much soap, shampoo, or lotion for a small human.

I tried a million different natural, organic soaps/lotions before finding some that don’t cause a reaction on my sensitive son’s skin, so my advice is DONT stock up beforehand and only buy 1 or two small bottles to try, then you can stock up after you know 100% that your baby won’t have a bad reaction. Also, keep in mind that their skin changes, so something that works when your baby is 6 weeks old might not work when she’s 6 months old. 
I tried Shea Moisture and Mustela first, then got into the more natural stuff and tried Baja Baby, Dr. Bronners Baby, Babo Botanicals sensitive fragrance free, Made of Organic baby soap, Everyone Baby, Attitude, Angel Baby, and California Baby. Out of all of those, the only ones that don’t cause a rash or cause dry skin on my son are Dr. Bronners and Babo Botanicals sensitive. Most of the others had lavender oil or some other essential oils that didn’t agree with my son’s skin. Now that I know which soap to buy, we only go through one bottle every 4-6 months. 
Lotion is a whole other story. We couldn’t use any lotion on my son without causing some sort of rash until he was around 6 months old, and at that time the only thing I could use was coconut oil. Now he can handle Cerave or Vanicream in small amounts, but absolutely nothing with any fragrance or essential oils.

I would only buy one at a time. My son has really sensitive skin and he can only use Johnson's and live clean brands.

You shouldn’t need a lot at first.  Maybe one bottle. You’ll want to use a super sensitive soAp like the Honest brand at first. But just a teeny TINY amount, just a drop or two.  My friend used no soap on her son for the first year! Just warm water. Babies have very sensitive skin.

I bought aveeno baby shampoo & lotion the 12 oz ones and my daughter is 4 months old and still has a lot left. Probably just buy 1 or 2 of each.

I have a bottle that our whole family uses. It’s Everybody soap and we go through 1 large bottle a month for a family of 5.

My little girl is 6months old and haven’t seen finished one normal size bottle of shampoo yet.. she’s got lots of hair 😂.. I have brought different brands of shampoo tho because she has so much hair, her hair gets really sweaty and stinky fast so I’ve tried out 3 different brand of shampoo only just found the one that keeps her hair smelling fresh. I wouldn’t bother bulk buying shampoos one bottle of normal size will last months hun.

I honestly went through two small bottles and only about half of a large one and my son will be 2 this month. My son as an infant got a bath every 2 days and for the past year/year and half got one every other day. It doesn’t honestly take much for a soapy washcloth to clean them.
