I think my doctor is wrong..How can this be real?

Question

Okay so 6 days ago (Sunday) it was confirmed I was very early pregnant. My. HCG levels were 42. Three days later (Wednesday) they re-checked my levels and they dropped to 10. The doctor informed me I had a chemical pregnancy.
Now today (Friday) still no signs of miscarriage I took another pregnancy test to see if the HCG was out of my system. I was expecting to get a negative but I got a very strong positive. This test picks up as low as 25 HCG...
So how is it possible my levels dropped then rose again?? Can I still be pregnant?

Unfortunately at home tests aren't the best indicator of a viable pregnancy. Especially if you're using two separate brands that pick up different amounts. Best to go with what your doctors says. Best of luck.

It could’ve been a mistake in the bloodwork... but I also think bloodwork that goes up and down can be indicative of ectopic.. but I would ask the dr to run bloods again.

Levels that early on lowering and rising can be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. From what i was told its not normal for levels to fluctuate early on like 4-6 weeks. They said further on the may lower and stabalize but early on is usually not a good sign. Thats what ive been told but ive also seen people on here whove said they've had it happen and had healthy babies. It could be a lab error. Or with 4 of my chemical pregnancies all my tests were positive for 2-3 weeks after my levels showed 0 on blood work. Oddly enough i had a digital read pregnant with all my chemicals, but they dont say that till 50 mui and my levels only got up to 28 one time, 8 the other, and dont remember the others but it was never 50.

Please go see your doc again and get your bloods redone. I had an ectopic last year and had the same results as you!

I would say repeat blood work just to see if it’s left over hcg or possibly a lab mistake , and possibly an ultrasound to rule out atopic pregnancy.
