Language?

What all does ur LO say at this point? How much does ur LO talk? My LO is 18 months old and she says baa for any word that begins with a B. Then I have to keep guessing based on the context if she means a ball or a bucket or beads. Or pa- pa for anything that starts with a P. You get the drift. Also, She doesn’t say ‘cat’ or ‘dog’ or ‘cow’ but instead says meow meow, bow wow, moo etc (the sounds they make rather than the names of animals). Are they supposed to be saying ‘cat’ and ‘dog’ and ‘cow’ yet? What she does say so far are- Mama,dada, then 4 terms clearly in our mother tongue to refer to her grandparents of both sides, hippo, head, hair, hat, hen, na na (for no), up, down, on, op (off), out, hi, ba-bye, ta-ta, egg, neck, ear, eye, other, undaway(for underwear), hulk (dog’s name), plus a couple more such words in English and a few words in our language. Also She says ‘da’ for the ‘ga’ sound. Like for example- green is da. Gate is da. Anything ‘G’ is da. Just wanted to check with you guys is this normal? What are your LO’s saying at 18/19 months of age?
