Is This A Good Mother’s Day Present?

Jo

I wrote a letter to my mom, but I don’t know if it’s good enough. I don’t have any money to buy any thing and I don’t have a car to visit her. So I thought I would send this at midnight so she’ll see it as soon as she wakes up.

“Mom, daughter, aunt, Mimi, niece, cousin, sister, wife, amazing. You go by many names, you’re many things. You’re a hard worker, a caring woman, a patient person, a Christian, a hero. You’re not perfect, by any means, none of us are. But you’re perfect to me. You’ve been a mother for 33+ years to two wild boys, three if you count Donte, and one crazy girl, many more if you count my friends. You’ve lost your mind, multiple times I’m sure, you’ve lost your patience too many times to count. But you’ve loved us unconditionally, without failure, and you’ve been there when we’ve needed you. You’ve made sacrifices you shouldn’t have had to make, you’ve been down and in the dumps, but you’ve picked yourself up along with every one else. You’ve had the weight of life on your shoulders, which is a heavy load, but you’ve kept going. If I’m half the mother you are, I’ll be great. I love you Mom, and no matter how much we fight, disagree, judge each other, or just plain out not talk, I will never not be proud of you. You’re the best mom I could ask for, let alone need, and I know the people we love up above are beyond proud of you. Thank you for being you.”
