Zofran and nausea

Has anyone taken Zofran, and if so what was your experience. I’m suffering from a lot of nausea and vomiting. My dr prescribed me Bonjesta which was $700, so that’s a no go. Then the dr called in Zofran. I read up on it and it says it’s a medicine for cancer patients...and saw somewhere it could cause birth defects (heart issues/cleft lips).

What makes me even more wary is this girl I know took it and at 20 week scan they saw a small hole in the baby’s heart.

I don’t think I’m going to risk it period, just curious to see what others say/did.
