Baby name ? And rudeness?

So before we even got pregnant we picked out this name for a boy of course we had 2 girl names but the boy one was just a fit like it was the one and when we found out WERE HAVING A BOY! We knew that was his name we did look at other names but this was his no doubt about it! 🖤 Damian Zane 🖤
We didn’t plan on keeping it a secret but we told one person and they made a very racist remark which to me was like what???! I was completely confused? Then it made me mad after them saying it was a stupid name and other things and so my sister asked and I didn’t want to say and then I told her about why I didn’t want to say and she was like that’s rude and how it doesn’t matter what people say so I tell her the name and she laughs!!!????? And she’s like really? Umm okay... so now it’s a secret until he’s born I don’t understand what’s wrong with people...IM NOT CHANGING HIS NAME THIS IS HIS! We love it and it stays🖤 I just would like to share this because I know I’m not the only one that this happens to and also it’s just so confusing how rude people can be!

I feel you! We decided on the perfect name for our baby boy and have received nothing but hate and jokes from my family 🙄 That’s just how they are but it’s not a trait to be proud of nor will I ever accept their shitty behavior. My mom still keeps saying “Well you have time you’ll probably change your mind” No lady, this is his name! Get over it.
By the way, love the name Damien. Names don’t have a race. People need to realize when they’re told the baby name it’s not up for debate and by no means are you asking for their opinion. Whatever happened to “If you don’t have something nice to say then don’t say anything at all”?! Ok, end rant. Lol 😌

I love the name you have picked! I have been hesitant to tell our baby boy’s name for this reason. His grandmother made the comment about the name being so long and I’m just like..welp good thing it’s not your kid then lady! Lol I have had my boy name picked out for 8/9 years and I’ll be damned if I change it because of what others say. We are going with Zayne Anthony Alexander. We added Anthony to it after my husbands late grandfather.

We picked out a girl name MONTHS before we knew what we were having. Aurora ❤️
Then I was visiting my grandmother and was so excited to tell her about the name. She was so mean to me. She asked if I was stupid & if my boyfriend was stupid. Goes on and on about how she can’t even pronounce it and when I hug her to leave she says “I love you but not her!” 
I flipped my shit. I was like “Excuse me? My babies ears are developing and she can hear you?! You better tell her you love her!” A few weeks go by and I am talking to my mother and I find out my grandmother wasn’t thrilled that my mom will be watching the baby full time when I go back to work and it will keep her from waiting on my grandmother hand and foot. 🤯🤬
I feel very protective already. I just might show ppl why we are called momma bears. Mess with my cub and feel my wrath. 🤰🤷‍♀️

I typically don’t share the name. And if I can sense there might be a comment about it I give out a fake name just to see the reaction. 
We told our whole church that if our first was a girl we were going to name her Jezebel Gamorra because it had such a biblical ring to it. I have never see so much polite stammering in my life. They stopped asking after that :)

No you are not!!! My cousin went thur this. Everyone had something to say about the baby name which is Junior.  Aunts uncles cousins his sisters and mom had something to say bout the name
Thats why no one will know my baby name til shes born. Hubby n I already know our family is gonna say something bout her name cuz its not a name you’d associate with a black person.
I told my sister its not a black name and its  hyphenated. (Ex Mary-Jane) she looked at me like i was crazy and told me not to do it.
Therefore I know not to tell ppl cuz their gonna have the same reaction.

The name you picked isn’t bad at all.  Try giving your child a foreign name while living in Southern America.  Smh.  People don’t even try to get his name right.  It’s not even that hard to pronounce!  And my own sister purposely tries to say it in different ways, like it’s a joke or something.  His dad (who is Nigerian) & I picked out the name long before he was ever conceive.  We both love it & it holds a lot of meaning to us.  I just hate that people are so flipping ridiculous & childish.

My sister and my mother complained about my son having the name Isaiah. Thought it wasn’t white enough. Then we picked the middle name Gray and they made fun of that. This time around I picked the name Elijah. No middle name yet and not only did they do it again but then I found out my husbands ex girlfriend named her new baby sylus elijah Gray and so for our daughters sake I decided to change his name. Didn’t want all three of her brothers to share names with each other😂 so it took a very long time to pick a name but finally I decided Jonah Reed and my family loved it. And I had my husbands sister ask if it was like the Jonas brothers😂 and for our girl name we had picked Elowen and her fiancé asked if our character would be an elf. People are so rude sometimes but you just have to move on. As soon as that baby is born everyone will see it’s the perfect name just as my mother can see my first sons name shouldn’t have been anything other than Isaiah. If it’s right for you everyone else will understand as well.
