Baby is over weight ?

So my son saw his pedi and weighted 17 pounds and 10 ounces. My pedi stated that I was over feeding my son and shouldn’t have gained three pounds since his 4 month visit ... idk if my pedi is stupid or if I am... but I don’t think he is over weight . He was 8 pounds at birth.. I’m not a doctor but idk there’s a lot of babies who are 20 pounds

My son was born 7lb 13oz. 
2 months he was 14lb 10oz
4 months he was 17lb 13oz
and 6 months 20lbs 3 oz
His doctor has never been concerned about his weight.

By 6 months they’re supposed to double their birth weight. I don’t think your baby is over weight. Babies only eat when they’re hungry. Maybe find a new dr

My daughter was born at 6 lbs even and at 6 months she is 18 lbs 7 oz

That doesn’t seem overweight. Do her height and weight match in percentile or is her height much lower than her weight?
 
For example my son is 21lbs but he is 29 inches long. As you can see below his weight is in the 95th percentile. But his height is also very high and off the charts. So my pediatrician wasn’t concerned at all...
From the chart below it looks like 18lbs is 75th percentile so unless your baby is very short  in height, im not sure why the pediatrician is concerned...

At his last checkup - a day over his six month mark - our baby boy was 18.35lbs. Nothing was ever said about that being abnormal.

My boy is 5 and a half months and weighed in at 19 lbs at his appt last week. Doc said he looks great. It’s a range. He was 50th percentile for weight at his 4 month appt and now 84th percentile just before his 6 month. As long as baby is healthy and happy I think you’re doing great!

How long is your little one? That makes a big difference. My little girl is almost 17 pounds at 6 months but she is 26 inches long. And even a shorter baby 17 pounds at 6 months is not crazy

My baby was born 8 pounds and then was 17 at 4 months 😅 Im sure she weighs 20 pounds now and is 6 months next week 🤷🏻‍♀️ her ped has never given any negative comments about her weight neither
