Fevers and little ones

My son is 16 months and has a 103 fever currently. I gave him Motrin at 2:30 and was planning on giving him more at about 9.

I was doing some reading though and it seems like letting the fever ride out wouldn’t be a bad thing unless he was uncomfortable acting or throwing up etc... he is acting fine just sleepy.

Is it true that if you let the fever ride they will get over the sickness faster?
