friends with benefits support

hey y’all

so a guy that i’ve been friends with since sophomore year of high school (we’re in college now) just drunk texted me and told me he was wondering if i wanted to be friends with benefits. (we’ve talked about hooking up before but in a joking way...) i don’t know what to do, we’ve been friends for so long and we’re so close that i don’t want to ruin our friendship..

i’ve been trying to convince my other guy friend (we’ll call him Ethan) that hooking up with friends does in fact ruin their friendship. ethan thinks that if two friends were to hook up, it wouldn’t effect the relationship and they would be normal friends... but i don’t know..
