Raising money to open a business
I really want to open my own business and the only thing holding me back is the finances to do it.
My fiance owns a business that I became the manager of a few years back, so we're both self employed, but since having a baby we've been struggling to save much. Our son is 18m and I stay home with him 5 days a week, and my mother and fiancé have him for a day each so I can go to work, plus I do basic admin work for a few hours when the baby goes to bed. So my days are pretty much ridiculously full, and it would cost us more to get my son into childcare so that option is out for now, but we do have a scheme local to us where the playgroup will match however many hours you pay for, which I'll be very grateful of when he's eligible in 6 months time.
There's no government funding etc available to me and I don't earn enough to be accepted for a business loan.
I'm really stuck on how to raise the money I need. I was planning on waiting until I'm working more so I could just save up and take my time with it, but I've heard a few people saying that the sort of business I want to open would be really great in our local area and I'm worried that if I don't do it soon someone else will.
Any ideas how I could raise the funds needed? I'll need about £5000 but could work with less if it meant my dream becoming a reality.
