Advice please

I have an 18 month old. My situation is a little weird my husband just recently got out of the military and were living with my in laws until we can get our own place. I don't necessarily have to get a job my husband doesnt mind me being a sahm but if I got one I could help with extra income..my only thing is my mother in law is one of those I'm grandma I can do what I wamt type of people and she will do it anyway and if you say something she gets all offended and just pissy...we have a certain way we want to raise our son and she doesn't abide by that..right now she watches another grandson during the week and just sticks him in front of the TV and makes him be quiet "because he's to hyper" when really the kids in front of the tv all day what does she expect.. i on the other hand dont want my child shoved in front of a tv...i want my son to be doing activities id do with him throughout the day and outside time and healthy meals and i know she won't stick with the schedule but at the same time I dont have anyone to watch my son if I go back to work I have my mom but my mother in law would get offended like I stated above ...any advice would be great
