Do you regret staying at home?

Question

I’m a nurse practitioner & am only part time (3 days a week) but am hoping to be able to stay at home in the next few months as my husbands salary will increase. We have an almost 8 month old and I never thought I wanted to be a full time stay at home mom, but now I feel I do. I’m jw if anyone misses working or wishes they hadn’t quit? Do you get bored at all? Or stay busy with babies / cleaning? 😆

I’ve been a SAHM for 4.5 years now. Definitely not easy and a lot of people don’t agree with it being a job. I do stay busy all day. As I have a 4.5 and a 1.5 year old. I’m constantly cleaning, and cooking. But I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. It is the most rewarding job that I’ve ever had. And it’s a blessing to be able to watch them grow.

I stayed home when my daughter was born until she was 2 1/2 then I felt like I was going stir crazy and missed being around other adults. I went to work 4 days a week. I'm due my 2nd in September and I'll take 9 months maternity leave then possibly return 3 days a week to maintain a balance. I think if you're able to fill your days and mix with plenty of people it would work to stay home.

I stay so busy I don't know where I'd find the time for a job! I do miss having time to myself and actually getting breaks.

If you guys can afford It, do It and enjoy It.  The laundry can wait. Time flies by!  I have a 2.5 year old. I’m almost 15 weeks with #2. I work from home 40+ hours a week as a loan analyst. And my son is home. It’s 2 full time jobs. I wish I could just have the mom job.  I do not have time to cook every night and my husband cleans. Lol. My sister is a SAHM, she lives across the street, so she’s over often. I feel lucky that I get to work from home and have my son with me. But I’m for sure envious of how much more attention my sister is able to give to her daughter throughout the day. My son has been occupying himself his whole life. It’s cool he’s independent and has an imagination. I just wish I could soak It in more. Because I feel like I blinked and he’s 2.5.

There are days where you feel stuck , stir crazy and lonely at times , but it definitely helps to go out of the house for a bit during the day . I have other family members I go see during the week which helps me not go crazy

I have my days where I wish I was back working again just because it can be lonely. At least for me I don’t have social media to set up play dates but that’s the only advice I would give make sure to get out of the house when your a full time sahm but otherwise to me I feel it’s worth the bit of boredom here and there and that definitely goes away as they get older my son is now 15 mo and I’m always chasing him around lol
