8dpo... anyone in same boat as me?

Hi! My husband and I are ttc baby #2. This is our 2nd month trying. With our son, ovulation sticks worked for us the first time and bam we were pregnant. I feel like we missed last month because we are trying the Shettles Method for a girl and did it 6dbo which was too far out (I had no EWCM). This time we did it every other blinking smiley face day including the blinking smiley the day before the peak smiley (which means you ovulate 12-48 hrs after you see this). I was on the 2nd day of EWCM when we dtd then the next was watery cm then it drastically changed to sticky and lotion-like. I hope I hit it. I go test happy and all have been negative thus far. Going to test again in the morning. My boobs were sore for a few days (5dpo until yesterday). I dont remeber having any symptoms prior to BFP with my son but maybe I wasnt looking? I also read that the cervix should be soft if you conceived and mine is somewhat hard but closed but who knows what I'm feeling lol. Anyone else in the same boat?
