37 weeks & NICU?

Having an induction schedule at 37 weeks for di-di twins. They think one is 5.75 lbs and the other is over 8. I don’t believe those numbers and the doctor even agreed they can be off. But they scheduled me an induction for this Saturday. Any of you had induction or went into labor at 37 weeks and had No nicu time? I’m wondering if I can cancel it and have them push it one more week out. I’ve had no complications

Studies show that 37 weeks is actually the safest time to deliver twins. Risks of premature complications and NICU time go up any earlier than that and risk of stillbirth goes up any later. Not to say that plenty of twins aren’t born perfectly fine at 36 or 38 weeks, but 37 is actually the sweet spot. Good luck!! Congratulations!! 🎊

I had an induction at 37 weeks and 3 days. They estimated by IUGR baby at 5 pounds 7 ounces (she ended up being 5pounds 11 ounces) and the bigger baby at 7 pounds 1 ounce (she ended up being 6 pounds 10 ounces ounces). They had no NICU time at all.

I had a c-section but it was at 37+4 and my twins were fine - no NICU time. Good luck.

I had a c section at exactly 37 weeks with di/di twin girls the smaller one weighed 5 lbs 5 oz and the bigger one weighed 6 lbs 13 oz no nicu time for them.

I was induced at exactly 37 weeks. My di/di twins spent 3 days in the NICU for observation because they were on the small side.

Usually only under 36 weeks is a guaranteed NICU stay...otherwise only if something is wrong. 37 weeks is considered term for Twins and is very safe! Most do great at this gestation. 
Depending on what type of twins you have...that difference in growth can be right. It is normal for them to induce for this reason! Everything will be okay mamma ☺️ Good luck!
