‘Stand at the top of the stairs’

A few days ago I received a positive pregnancy test. (It was a shock and not planned) anyway I anxiously told my boyfriend and his response was ‘stand at the top of the stairs then’ (so he can push me down)

I know it was a joke but I got a bit upset and said like it’s really not the time but he had a go saying he’s leaving if I’m going to be like this and how I’m so sensitive. Do I have a right to be upset? Am I being over the top. I have no problem admitting I’m wrong so please be honest
