My husband said it first but seemed really nervous so I just had to messy with him 😆 I pretended like I had to think about it and paused for a good ten seconds. He had said, "What would you say if I told you I love you?" I said "Uuuhh I guess I would probably say... I love you too. That is, if you told me you love me... but you didn't so I'll have to just think about it until you do"

I said it first. He said "well, you're braver than I am." 😲 Then said it back.

This may seem a little silly but we love sharing this memory when we were 18 and 20. Its that my partner said it first while he was in the back seat of his moms car and I was camping in his hometown since I lived in a different town and had my family with me. He said I love you and I got to the point " I Lllll" cuz in the background we hear my mom say you have to say I like you back. So when lean into the window we do a retry but again he said it first and I whispered it to him and he smiles.

My now husband & I had only been dating about 3 weeks when he said it, I’d never been in a serious relationship before him & had literally never said “I love you” to anyone romantically & no one had ever said it me before either, when he said it I was so happily surprised that inside I was like “OMG He LOVES me!” but outside I babbled about a phone conversation I’d had w/ my brother telling him about how I was “pretty sure I was falling in love” w/ my new guy, luckily my husband didn’t get put off by that & instead just teased me about it once we’d been together longer :) For the record I actually said it about 2 days later
