Is Parker too common?

We found out we’re having a boy and my partner and I are yet to find a name we mutually love. I like more uncommon names whereas he likes more regular names (though still doesn’t want a top 50 name). 
He really likes Parker at the moment and it’s the only name he’s suggested that I like. Is it too common though? How many people do you know named Parker? What are your thoughts on the name in general?

I’d check the top names around your birth year to get a feel for the point where a lot of names are an acceptable level of common for you, then hop over to baby name wizard to see about how many babies per million were given that name that year. This will give you a better guide for how popular is okay for you. I contrasted Ashley and Brittney with Natalie and Brooke (first two being a no! And later two being acceptable level) and a few others for the late 80’s/early 90’s and came up with less than 1000, preferably closer to the 500 side or less being okay for me, which surprisingly is achieved by similar ranks (about #90) as my birth year, even though the most common names are becoming less common than they used to be as parents strive more for unique names than common (I read something that said in the 50’s 50% of babies had the top 25 names, which is only achieved now by combining the top 200 boys or even more girls). Personally for me Parker is too common, but may not be for you.

My little guy is called Parker , I’m from the UK apart from hearing a lady shout her son at soft play he was also called Parker that’s the only time I have ever heard it so it’s quite unique from where I am 🥰
