Accidentally called a young girl a boy 😳

I was at a little girls birthday with my two kids and the baby boys were all together and this young person sat in behind them. I made the ass assumption that this young person was a boy and said “oh look all the boys are together” 😑..... and she in fact was not and said as much. I tried to recover as fast as I could by saying oh I didn’t mean you I meant the babies , I’m sorry!....but I had my foot shoved to far in my own mouth already I think 😰
