Postpartum bleeding

So anyone else experiencing this? My bleeding keeps coming and going. Everything I read online says it should be this progression from bright red blood, to pink colored, to white, and then stop. Mine stopped, then I passed a clot, then it stopped again and I had nothing for a week, then I had a huge gush of bright red blood a few times yesterday. I thought I was peeing myself when it came out. It soaked a pad. I'll be 3 weeks postpartum on Wednesday. How long are you supposed to bleed for? I'm sick of wearing pads. Every time I think its finally getting better, it starts back up again. Why the back and forth? The new fresh blood 3 weeks out is concerning to me. I emailed my OB so I'll hear from her tomorrow I'm sure. But just curious in the meantime for those of you that have had your babies for a few weeks now if your bleeding has stopped or what you're experiencing.
