Opinion needed

Jess

I was asked to monitor my blood sugar for a week to determine if I had gestational diabetes. I passed 2 three hour glucose tests prior but agreed to make sure that everything is ok for my baby.

My numbers during the week all hit within range, however, maternal fetal medicine is now insisting I continue monitoring my sugar and alter my diet as if I am diabetic.

I am all for whatever is best for my baby but is it really necessary to continue monitoring my blood sugar when I just proved my numbers were within range? I can do the diet change I’m just not comfortable with the finger sticking but did it anyway for my baby. I really don’t want to keep doing it unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Any thoughts? Are they being too cautious? Am I getting too emotional?
