Birth Control Suggestions
I started taking birth control when I was 18 (now 21) and I started with pills. I liked them but I wanted something less high maintenance (worrying about taking them everyday). I switched to Nexplanon (arm implant) about 6 months after starting the pills. I LOVED the implant except I always spotted. After telling my doctor she recommended I take pills as well as keep my implant for a month or two to see if it would control the spotting. I did this but it did not help. After battling with the spotting for about a year I switched BACK to the same pills. After 8 months of taking the pill I noticed spotting again. My doctor changed my pill to a higher estrogen (same brand tho). The spotting is gone but I fell like I have gained 10+ pounds.
I know I sound like I’m complaining a lot but I would like to find a different birth control method (IUD, etc). What do you suggest? Has anyone experienced this?
