trying to prove a point to my parents that i deserve more privacy and she should only go through my phone ocassionally. 
i pay for my calls, texts and mobile data by myself and got my phone from my dad who died two years ago in july. no, my parents were never married because neither of them believed in marriage. they were together for 11 years and broke up before i was born.

My mum used to always go through my phone...and without me knowing. It lead to major trust issues, and I never ever tell her things about my private life because of it. It genuinely damaged our relationship. Young teens are ALLOWED to have privacy - it’s healthy. Especially since you pay for your phone, that’s YOUR phone. She has no right.

How old are you? Regardless, my parents did and it led to nothing but major trust issues and it’s impossible to communicate with them now. She shouldn’t be going through your phone. However, if you’re 14-15 years old and have put yourself in dangerous situations in the past, then it is not surprising that your mother is scared. However, she should be talking to you about it instead of violating your privacy. Communicate with her and gain each other’s trust.

They don’t look through my phone, but sometimes my mum likes looking at my photos (with my permission), she finds them interesting. I’ve got nothing to hide so I honestly couldn’t care less
