Do you think its weird for a grown person to call their parents “mommy” or “daddy” ?

So I was listening to the radio this morning and a ghosted segment of a show came on, turns out this girl saw that the guy she was seeing called his parents mommy and daddy (but not in a gross way) and had them in his phone as that too... so she ghosted him cause of it. I think that was an overreaction on her part/don’t see much wrong with having your parents in your phone as that. But what do you think? Gross/weird or not?

In my experience, those that call their moms mommy or fathers daddy tend to have a closer relationship with them. And that's a great thing. Many of us would love to know what it feels like to be close to our parents. So I feel it's ridiculous to ghost someone just for that

Personally I use 'Mom' and 'Dad' but I wouldn't ghost a guy for calling his parents mommy and daddy.  Mostly because 1) Ghosting is rude and 2) I respect a guy who has a close relationship with his parents like that.

I think it depends. I call my dad daddy because I always have and it would be kind of a big deal to stop now. Especially since I have a 4 year old sister. I call my mom mama or mommy because she gets mad at me when I call her mom. I would prefer to just call her mom but it's easier to just let her have her way

No, I don’t see anything wrong with it. Don’t judge someone just because they address their parents in a different way

I’m almost 30 and still call my mom “mommy” but I never call my dad “daddy”. I think it’s because I was raised by my mom/grandma. It’s hard to break the habit and switch it up to just call her “mom” because that’s what I’ve called her ever since I was a little girl. 
In my opinion, I don’t think it’s weird.

Calling your dad “daddy” as an adult can be a southern dialect thing (though not all of us do). But you don’t really hear “mommy” as much.

I think it could also be a southern thing but most people i know call their mom "mama" and a LOT of people call their dad "my daddy". Dont have a dad tho so no personal opinion
