Can babies be lactose intolerant?

My baby is fussy with regular formula and sensitive. His dad is lactose intolerant but idk how that works. If they can be at this age (6 weeks old right now) or if that’s something that develops later if they are going to have it. He has an appointment with his dr to go in and talk about his tummy problems but I wanted to see if any other mamas had any experience here. Maybe suggest a formula that I could ask his dr about when we go?

It can be at any age. Both of my boys are lactose intolerant. My oldest is 9 and my baby is 7 weeks. They were/are on Nutramigen. I was on Nutramigen as a baby and so was my husband.

My LO had a dairy sensitivity that caused her tummy troubles. I was feeding her breastmilk so I cut out dairy and it helped. I read that babies can outgrow sensitivities by 6-18 months so now I'm slowly reintroducing it into my diet again to see how she reacts. So far she's adjusting fine.

It's possible, but lactose intolerance is unusual in young infants. An allergy or other sensitivity is more likely if he's having issues. Talk to his pediatrician.

My sons dr said it can be at any age. And they can actually grow out of it... 
My son ended up lactose but not until he turned a year old.. it was weird, we used regular formula the first year then he would get kinda sick with milk. 
But his dr suggested giving him non dairy/ no lactose formula (I think that’s what it’s called😐).... We used Soy😬... Then we started him back on milk (lactose free) 
It went away when he turned 2.... he drinks regular now...
