Baby yanking my nipple!

Does anyone else’s baby do this? He sucks a little then jerks his head to the side to look around and he still has a grip on my breast while he does it so it kills my nipple! He is eight months old and so distracted while he eats. I guess I just have to keep him covered every time I feed him or make the room as dark and quiet as possible 🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s like he’s trying to rip my nipples off and it’s making it very hard to continue breastfeeding but I’m not ready to stop
